Would you suggest buying a spare fan?

Absolutely, although all of our units are PAT tested in line with recommended safety standards. Should anything happen to your bouncy castle fan on or before a hire you could lose your event booking, damage your reputation and possibly lose further bookings, so having a spare is always a good idea.

Do I need to service my blowers?

No. As long as you take care of your bouncy castle blowers, keep them protected from dust and debris and store them out of cold, damp places, they should be fine!

Please remember it is best practise to inspect your blowers before and after every hire for damage to the inlet and outlet guards and also the electrical connections and power cables.

If in doubt please have your inflatable blower checked by an electrically competent person.

Are your blowers CSA and UL marked?

Safety is the primary concern to Gibbons Fans.  Our products have been tested by the Canadian Standards Institute CSA

Furthermore, we are the only bouncy castle fan manufacturer to have our products externally tested to IP44 standards.

We ensure quality and safety are built into each and every component that we select in order for us to provide you with the safest and most reliable fans available in the market today.

Our fans are compliant to the following standards:

CSA C22.2 No. 68-09

UL 1450 fourth edition

How quickly can I expect my order to be despatched?

For small orders (1-3 blowers) or spare parts, we can usually despatch same day if we are in receipt of payment by 12pm and stock is immediately available. For larger orders, we aim to despatch within 24-48 hours from receipt of payment.

Do Gibbons fans come with a warranty, if so how long is it?

Yes, all of our products come with a 12 month warranty as standard, and our petrol blowers, FP5005, FP5006 and FP5007 standard (0.75hp, 1.50hp and 2.00hp) units can all be extended to 24 months warranty, free of charge, by simply returning the extended warranty card to us within 28 days of purchase. Click here for further information, including our warranty terms and conditions.

Can I use an extension lead with my fan?

Of course. Ensure the cable has a minimum copper cross-sectional area of 1.5mm2, but for best practise, we suggest using 2.5mm2 cable, with a maximum length of 25m.

NB: The cross-sectional area is usually embossed into the outer insulation of the cable along with other technical information.

Please note that each fan should be supplied by its own dedicated extension cable, this will ensure that the fan is operating most efficiently without any loss in performance.

Can I use the fans in the rain or on the beach?

Our units are IP44 rated (meaning our fans are suitable for outdoor use), however, as with all electrical products extreme care should be taken when operating our blowers in damp or wet conditions.

It is important to protect your unit from as much dust and debris as possible to maximise life and ensure maximum performance at all times. For use on the beach, we recommend that a filter is fitted to the inlet guard to reduce sand entering the fan, making it suitable for those seaside hires.

How much electricity does my blower use?

On average, a 0.75HP/1.5HP standard FP5005 or FP5006 unit will use around 80p-£1 of electricity over 6 hours to run, though this will depend on your individual electricity supplier and tariff.

For further information please click here to see our guide on electricity usage.

How loud are the fans?

In free air (i.e. not connected to an inflatable), our FP5005 and FP5006 0.75hp/1.5HP units produce approximately 80dB at 5meters and the FP5007 2.0HP fans produce approximately 87dB at 5 meters.
